
We
are a traditional yoga center, based
on vinyasa (flow) yoga in a serene and
quiet environment. We offer ongoing
yoga classes ranging from very gentle to
challenging. The
gentle classes have a therapeutic quality
with the emphasis on wellness and developing
self knowledge. The more challenging
classes include deep breathing and full
range of motion as well as training in
strength and flexibility. The ongoing
easy classes are appropriate for newer
students who have some experience and
others who want to work on specific issues. All
of our teachers are certified and professional,
and provide personal attention with the
ability to help you modify or intensify
your practice.
We also
offer fun, in-depth workshops on the weekends
to inspire your practice. These require
pre-registration.
You can drop in at any time to try a class
or buy a class card. Our
teachers are private contractors and handle their fees separately, so
that your card applies only to the classes taught by the teacher you
buy a class from.
It is important
to us that you feel safe and respected
as you practice yoga, so we request that
new students participate, rather than observe
classes.
We do
a lot of deep breathing, so we also request
that you avoid using fragrances out of
respect for those who may have a physical
reaction to them. Please
be on time to class and try to stay for the duration
to get the most out of your practice. The
ending relaxation is as important as the postures
and we want you to give yourself the time needed
for a complete yoga practice.
Finally, NO cell phones
or pagers are allowed! We
consider Canyon Spirit to be a sanctuary
and want to maintain a quiet, stress-free
environment for all.
